COCO ICHIBANYA CURRY REVIEW Tokyo, Japan

Updated: Jun 9, 2018

Shibuya, Tokyo branch

my favourite - sliced pork curry

I love japanese curry and I particularly adore japanese curry chain, Coco Ichibanya.

When I was in Tokyo I must have eaten there a few times a week. The curry was that good. I couldn't get enough of it. And with restaurants all over the city, in fact the entire country #Japan, lucky for me I knew where my next #curry fix was going to be.

Coco Curry has over thirty different varieties of curry to choose from each customisable with the level of heat, amount of rice and there's an optional assortment of toppings you can add to your order as well. Even though I've tried quite a few of them, my favourite is still the sliced pork curry. It's amazing!

The pork is so tender and the fluffy rice which accompanies it soaks up the sauce beautifully. You can't get any better than a bowl of this on a cold Tokyo day.

Every mouthful fills you with warmth and offers immediate satisfaction. This is comfort food at it's best. And everywhere I had it, it was consistently good.

They also sell packets of their famous curry blends to take home. So before leaving I made sure I filled my luggage with enough supplies to satisfy my cravings.

I am so impressed with Coco Ichibanya and can't rave about them enough.

They tick all the boxes for me - tasty, quick and affordable food.

What more could you ask for!
