BIBELOT REVIEW 285-287 Coventry Street, South Melbourne

Whenever I'm in #SouthMelbourne I always like to stop by my favourite dessert cafe, Bibelot for an afternoon tea and dessert. The selection here is truly mouth watering and ever changing though there are some popular staples which have secured a spot in the regular line up like the mango mousse which has through time appeared in various incarnations.

The desserts here are refined and not too sweet and are well balanced. You don't leave feeling like your palate is overloaded with too much sweetness and sugar.

Bibelot's desserts really are a work of art and pretty as a picture. You can see the level of detail and care taken to assemble each sweet masterpiece. There is so much skill involved in each #desserts creation and that is something I really appreciate.

I love uncovering each element as I eat. There are so many interesting layers, textures and flavours going on that are both familiar and unique and they all work together brilliantly to create something special.

If you're feeling particularly adventurous then why not try the degustation board of Bibelot's signature desserts in miniature form.

Or if macarons are more your thing then you will be pleased with the selection that awaits you. The strawberry balsamic macaron is highly recommended and hard to stop at just one. Also take home some of their delightful chocolate bon bons for later, you won't regret it.

Wash all this down with a pot of one of their unique tea blends (anyone up for tropical papaya, pineapple, hibiscus tea?) or coffee and you have a match made in heaven.

For any dessert lover, Bibelot #MelbourneCafes is a recommended destination.
